He has been sentenced to three months of imprisonment and slapped with Rs 5,000 fine.
The case was of 2013 for Garg slapping the son of lawyer Arup Borbora. A case to this effect was registered at Geeta Nagar police station in the city.
Borbora lodged a complaint against the singer at the Geetanagar police station charging him with criminal intimidation.
According to Borbora, Zubeen had beat up his minor son - who is a fan of the singer - for no reason when the latter tried to meet the singer personally.

Zubeen, however, had defended his stand saying that he slapped the boy for smoking in his presence.

Zubeen's counsel Jonmoni Debi Khaond later told reporters that the singer would move a higher court against the verdict.
Meanwhile, Borbora, the father of the minor, has welcomed the verdict.
Social media appeared deeply split over the court ruling. Posts for and against the order circulated in almost equal number. Some welcomed the order while others said that that Zubeen was not trying to harm the boy.
